During a guy’s ski weekend my husband decided that he needed to have Crested Butte in our lives on a permanent basis and purchased a lot downtown.   The snow was so high that he could not even see if we had a view or not.  He returned home to tell me that in the 72 hours  that he had been gone, he bought the lot, hired both and architect and a builder, and needed me to find a designer that could make this dream come true.  Unfortunately due to a health issue,  I was not able to see our new home site or meet with anyone in Crested Butte personally before we broke ground during the next summer.  Our builder heard my concerns, or should I say my panic, and immediately recommended to talk to Carolina Fechino-Alling from Interni Design.

And from the first minute of our initial phone call, I realized I had hit the lottery.  Carolina was not daunted by me as a client who had a long list of conflicting design problems.  I wanted the house open but cozy.  Colorful but serene.  Adaptable to some physical impairments while not sacrificing style.  And to do all of this on budget, on time, and for a client who had never seen the property itself.

She helped immensely working as an intermediary between the builder,  the architect,  and us.  She saw not only potential design problems but gave creative and reasonable solutions.  It is as if she enjoyed having a problem or issue so she could find a better answer.  And she always did propose something better than what we had originally planned. She and her fabulous assistant Juniper were my voice in the project.  Their good humor and relentless work ethic made this enormous building project a breeze.

But the best thing about Interni is that the care and attention during the building project did not stop when we moved in.  Whether we wanted to change something small like decorative pillows or add something large like a coffee bar post-construction, we received the same amazing service, thought, and care.  This is a very special firm doing high quality design and we remain so grateful of their work and dedication designing our dream home.

Review #14286244 “ Come Home To Tomorrow's Comforts in Historic CB! Book For Spring Break Now!”

A Modern Mountain Retreat

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

This house, which was recently completed, has not one design flaw. The layout is extremely efficient and the decor is a beautiful mix of streamlined rustic and soft modern. The main room has plenty of comfortable seating along with a remote control fireplace. The finish out on the bathrooms is very impressive and both main showers have a steam mist system. In addition to the flawless design, there were many great details, such as hooks/storage for all of our ski gear, fun baskets for storage in the kids rooms and any/every kitchen essential. It was such a fun house to come back to each day!! Only blocks away from Elk, we could easily walk to restaurants and the shuttle stop (that takes you up to the mountain). We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a luxury spot in town!!
